Partner Activities



Click on the picture of the world map.

From the menu located at the top of the page click on
countries.

This page will display the different continents. The flags represent the different countries. Scroll with your mouse to zoom in on a continent. You can also click and drag to move around the map.
Choose a country to learn more about. Click on the flag to go to the countries’ website.

Read the tab identity card that is located on the right hand side of the page. (The tab is orange and white)

Go to the section on the
identity card that is labeled website. If no website is listed on the identity card or if the website is not written in English, click on the back arrow and choose another country that displays a website written in English.

Click on the underlined link to the website.


From the information that is given on this website, answer the following questions in complete sentences.

1. What is a National Olympic Committee (NOCs)?

2. What year did this country first participate in the Olympics?

3. What are 2 other interesting facts that you learned about this country?

Flag Activity


Click on the picture of the flags.

From the menu located at the top of the page click on countries.

The name of the country is located on the on the left side of the website. Please observe the small picture of the countries’ flag that is shown under the countries’ name.

Go to Internet Explorer and Google your countries’ flag by clicking on Images and type in “flag for " (put in the name of the country)

Find a nice size image and right click on it and choose “save as” from the menu. Write the name of the country in the box and click on save.

The image has to be in JPG format.

Now go the following website

Click on browse and find your image.

Click on the blue box labeled
create.

The pieces of the puzzle will be displayed in jigsaw form.

I will explain the menu for assembling the puzzle with you before we begin this activity.
